Tomorrow is Nelson Mandela’s 92nd birthday, but it is MUCH more than that too…
It is also the 2nd Annual: ‘Nelson Mandela International Day’ – The guy has done so much for my country (South Africa) and so much to unite the world, that the United Nations General Assembly declared July 18 Nelson Mandela International Day in recognition of the former South African president’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom world wide.
What can you do? Well 2 simple things, the first is, spend just 67 minutes doing something good for your local community tomorrow on Mandela Day. This is to signify the 67 YEARS Mandela spent fighting for Social Justice. It doesn’t matter where in the world you live, try and spend just 1 minute per year that Mandela spent, helping out tomorrow!

Peter, thanks for contributing!
I was lucky enough to Meet Mr. Mandela (Madiba as he is known) when I was younger. He has an amazing and inspiring story. Not sure if you got a chance to see Invictus yet, but I think that is quite true to how it was.
Well it been over 40 years when I worked in a retail store by the name of Dunnes Stores in Dublin, We as worker’s where the first employees to put a boycott of fresh friuts, and other products, from South Africa. This was the beginning of many actions against then the South Afican governments, and the begining of the Anti-Apartheid movement in Ireland, which then spread around the world, quite quickly !
Thanks for your last visit to Ireland in 2000, where your received a awarded honorary Doctorate of Laws in Trinity College, Dublin. It was great seening you again visiting Ireland, and I hope you make another trip to see where it all happened for the better good of you and your people in South Africa…
Long may you live Nelson Mandela, and a happy Birthday to you !
What great memories !

P.S.
I have to say, South Africa, and the people of South Africa, put on a great show for the World cup !
Ed – Wow, that is very interesting and thanks for the great shout to get the word out!
I remember the marches through the cities like Dublin and London that followed, shouting “Free Mandela” – Inspiring stuff.
Madiba (African nickname for Mr. Mandela, meaning ‘our father’) Used to be a prince of his tribe and was also a boxer as well as a rugby player!
Thanks for also mentioning the world cup. It seemed to have gone very well. Regarding Mandela getting to Dublin again, I have heard that he is very frail now and is unable to leave the house much π
Nelson Mandela is a great inspirational person, and it’s a pity that certain goverments of power and might around the world, would not follow what he represents, in fairness for humanity peace and prosperity to all….
Lets send Nelson Mandela, best wishes and speedy improvement to his health !

Colin, you are an inspiration and a credit to the internet marketing world. I still remember the day Nelson Mandela walked out of prison a free man. There were many moist eyes and much joy here in the States that day. Nelson Mandela is a great and humble man and history will be very kind to this gentle man who suffered greatly to help his people.
i hope there more people like him especially in my country (Philippines).we really need more people like.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this.
Happy Birthday ! Dear Mr. Nelson Mandela. …… and sincerely wishing you many more to come.
Well., you learn something every day! I am from Australia and I am sorry but I did not know of Mandela International day. He IS a great man, and I should never forget today, his special day, as it is my birthday today. Hi Colin
What a wonderful thing you are doing in honor of a truly great man. His life’s work will continue to be a beacon of light in the wilderness for many generations to come.
God Bless
Hey Colin! Glad to be a contributor to this.
Here’s a quote I’d like to leave you and your readers with:
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
— Nelson Mandela
Happy Birthday, Mr. Mandela; and a happy day to you, Colin. Thanks for making me aware of this and for increasing the donations. I’m creating a company to put at least 1000 Veterans of Foreign Wars into their own companies with no upfront costs from them. Each one starts as the operator; then, in five years or less, each one becomes full owner. I challenge others to find a way to help the heroes of their own countries instead of shunning them and blaming them for being honorable protectors and servants to their own citizenry. They deserve more!
Hello Colin –
This is really GREAT of you to start this donation to support the foundation of such a fantastic Personality as Mr. Nelson Mandela……please remember to include Happy Birthday wishes from
